Personality: Notoriously stupid and clumsy, easily controlled by his emotions, good with kids, lovable and kind
History: Edward Surge, born Edward Cletus, lived in the Florida everglades with his hillbilly family for a large portion of his life. Part of the reason for his stupidity and clumsiness was the abusive school his thoughtless parents sent him to; the other was that his parents were almost as abusive as his teachers.

This was mainly due to Edward's S-factor that gave him his powers. The Surges treated science such as this as the work of the devil, and treated Edward like an abomination. Shortly after he turned 13, the NSA tracked edward down and saved him from his abusive parents. He was placed under scocial care and cared for rather well. Sadly, his stupidity did not go away, although he did learn to become more civilized in his teenage years.

At the age of 15, Edward willingly began his career as Thunderhead in the city of Westburg. Sometime during that, he met the water-based Super Splashdown and saved his life despite his own stupidity and clumsiness getting in the way. Since Thunderhead had no family to return to (his parents were murdered when he was 17 for unknown reasons), they swore brotherhood and Thunderhead became a close friend of his family. He did all he could to help his friend during the "Splashdown vs. Phylange" trial, and comforted him during his divorce and his daughters death.

Later on, in the year 1958, Thunderhead saved Westburg from an unknown villain's missile attack and had just turned the enemy's projectile away from the city, when he caught the sight of the young lady who had been held captive. Thunderhead bowed to her but accidentally snagged his cape on the missile's fin; it launched a few seconds later, tearing Thunderhead right out of his boots and gauntlets and killing him.

15 years later, he and Apogee were placed in cryogenic storage by the Aperture Science Institute, as part of an enormous Super cloning scheme by the company. He was eventually freed by Dash Parr of the Incredibles, just in time to free Apogee from her brainwashing. Thunderhead now lives with the Squall family, next door to the Parr's, and is willing to stop Aperture at all costs.

The fun thing about Thunderhead is that he is a good candidate for very expressive behavior. I used various emotes around dA as a basis for each of his countenances here.
Note: I was a bit loath to use Cletus at first. However, I read that it actually means "glory" in Greek, so I figured it would make a nicely ironic twist in his name.
